This Privacy Policy applies to the Dumb Launcher app (marketed as “Dumb Phone Minimalist Launcher”, the “Application”) created by Ess X LLC (“Service Provider”). The Application is provided “AS IS”.

Our Privacy Commitment

• 100% offline — the Application does not require or use internet connectivity.
• Zero data collection — we do not collect, track, store, use, sell, or share user data.
• No third-party SDKs — the Application uses only official Android/AndroidX libraries. No analytics, ads, or trackers.
• No accounts — no registration or login is required.
• Your data stays on your device — settings and preferences are stored locally and are removed when you uninstall.

Permissions and Device Access

Dumb Launcher requests only the minimal permissions required for core launcher functionality:

• QUERY_ALL_PACKAGES — used solely to display the user’s installed apps and let the user launch them. We do not collect, transmit, or share package data. Where possible, we also declare explicit <queries> for launcher intents (ACTION_MAIN and CATEGORY_LAUNCHER) to keep visibility scoped.
• SET_WALLPAPER — lets the user change the wallpaper from within the launcher. Invoked only when the user chooses to set a wallpaper.
• USE_BIOMETRIC — enables biometric unlock for user-controlled UI elements (e.g., access to hidden/locked app rows) if the user enables it.

Location

The Application does not request location permissions and does not collect precise or approximate location information.

Children

The Application is suitable for general audiences. Because we do not collect any data, children’s privacy is inherently protected.

Security

• No data collected — there is no server-side personal data to breach.
• Local storage only — settings are stored in app-specific storage isolated by Android.
• Biometric protection — where enabled by the user, access to hidden UI sections can be gated with device biometrics.
• No network attack surface — the Application does not use internet connectivity.

Website

Our website (dumblauncher.com) may generate basic server logs (e.g., IP address, user agent, pages visited) for security and operations. We do not use third-party advertising, analytics pixels, or social tracking.

Data Retention

• In-app — settings remain on your device and are deleted when you uninstall.
• Website logs — kept only as long as necessary for operations and security, then deleted.

Your Rights

If your local law (e.g., GDPR/UK GDPR/CCPA) grants rights of access, correction, or deletion, contact us at support@dumblauncher.com.

Changes to this Policy

If we change what the Application collects or which permissions it uses, we will update this page and the store listing before releasing those changes.
